Nearshore and Offshore Dominate

Canaveral & Cocoa Beach Offer Awesome Fishing

The seas are calmer during the late summer before the afternoon rains, explains Captain Richard of Lagooner Fishing Guides.  An early morning charter to the offshore reefs and wrecks or a nearshore morning off Cocoa Beach or Canaveral can be one of the best experiences you'll ever have.  This August started off with an inshore bang during a half day fishing where we caught sharks, bonita and king fish within a shout of the beach.

It's A Mixed Bag

A Buffet of Fishing Fun

Tarpon, kingfish, Bonita, jacks and Sharks make for a great day of fishing offshore of Cape Canaveral during the last few weeks.  Come join captain Richard for a great day of fishing!
These two brothers double teamed this large tarpon for their first big fish EVER

Tarpon have had a steady showing on the Space Coast this summer close to the beaches.  It's a great alternative to a far offshore fishing trip.

Shark Week on the Lagooner

Sharks come close to our most consistent fishery in Central Florida.  It is "Shark Week" on television too.

Both Kids and Adults love to Fish

Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, and other fish species make for an interesting day on the water

Bonita make for beautiful catch

Spanish Mackerel are fun and tasty

July is for Kings

I love taking kids out fishing!  Watching a kid experience the ocean and the thrill of catching his first big fish is an extraordinary event.  Many of us remember growing up and going fishing, camping canoeing and other outdoor adventures, but there's always that big one that got away, the giant fish that dad caught those cool animals like dolphins, turtles, and sharks.
Our Wonder Years at home with mom and dad are a special time and the parents that spend those opportunities with their kids often don't realize the memories they're making that their children will take with them for a lifetime.

This young angler spent a day with his dad and big brother mostly watching them reel in fish, but having a blast in the Florida Sunshine.
